Top 10 Stories of the Week in Music News
Festival season started in earnest, especially around Gibson Towers where we breezed through country music’s annual CMA Music Festival and sweltered in a big field for Bonnaroo. In music news, Slash was attacked on stage but survived unharmed with his Les Paul intact. Paul McCartney played the Isle of Wight Festival in the U.K. and paid special tribute to Jimi Hendrix, while Led Zeppelin old boys, Plant and Page both talked about their new projects. Oh, and last but certainly not least, Whitesnake will soon have their own Zinfandel in the stores, which might come in handy when watching Sebastian Bach on SpongeBob SquarePants. Rock and Roll!
