Walk Don’t Run to Make Your MetalWork!
Taye Drums mentioned Taye MetalWorks back in June. Now you no longer have to wait. You need to get yours today before we run out. Run, don’t walk to your nearest Taye Drums dealer and find yourself a Taye MetalWorks!!!! You no longer have to work as hard as you once did. The introduction of Taye MetalWorks makes your drumming life that much easier. Read the re-run: The Taye MetalWorks is built to provide the essence of what you feel in each and every performance. You start with its quick response to what your foot tells it. Then take a look at the pedal itself. The steel finished footboard gives the player’s foot a perfect target and plenty of room for placement each and every time along with the smooth feel of the new heel plate hinge system. The footboard depth adjustment beneath the footboard is where drummers can loosen one simple wing nut to adjust the depth of the footboard to customize the feel of the pedal. Next at the cam pitch adjustment, one can loosen two allen screws rolling them forward or back to adjust the pitch of the pedal creating a customized punch to the pedal. Now over to the right is where the beater can be pushed nearer or further from the head by a simple adjustment of the beater depth adjustment. There at the beater adjustment is the Dual Headed Adjustable Beater to find the perfect sound for every beat. There at the spring assembly is where the power lies. In the red zone, you will find a roller bearing to push your pedal in to high gear. Also, there is where you can adjust the distance from the beater to the head with a simple allen screw adjustment. Then make sure it stays attached to your bass drum hoop with the new design of the reliable hoop clamp design.Last but not least is the new Stick Caddy for those who always need something nearby when the show calls for it. The double bass drum model (TMW-D) can be converted to a left handed model without too much of a problem featuring Taye Drums’ Configuration Friendly - for every rhythm method. We make everything for everyone in every price range.
Available in either a single (TMW - $299, Retail) or a double pedal (TMW-D - $649, Retail). You can adjust yourself INTO this pedal.
Become one with yourself and with YOUR rhythm. Play Taye MetalWorks . Be yourself. Be Taye.

Taye Guy, Daru Jones has been a busy man as of late. On top of travelling around the country with Black Milk and Daisy Jopling, Daru has gotten involved in a movement in the music industry. Dame Dash has resurfaced with his new organization DD172 at Creative Control. The venue has been nicknamed “The Dojo” where Ski Beatz created the “24 Hour Karate School” which has been fabled to be released very soon. Well, it looks like “soon” may be here before we know it. Recently, Ski and the Senseis (Daru, Brady Watt and John Cave) went down to Music Television to tape a show featuring DD172 artists, Curren$y (whose album Pilot Talk just dropped last Tuesday, the 15th), Stalley (2010’s best “neck beard”) and Big K.R.I.T. from Mississippi. Later that night, they would sell out the infamous, Brooklyn Bowl for the BluRoc Festival. Daru plays on a StudioMaple in Java Burst, 12×9 (optional), 16×16 floor tom, 22×18 kick drum and 14×16 snare drum. Check out the videos here. In the meantime, watch Daru, Ski Beatz and the Senseis performing “S.T.A.L.L.E.Y.”

Taye Drums have Bad Sports but it’s Better Than The Van
During 2010’s ǖber popular, South By Southwest Festival (aka SXSW), Taye Drums partnered with burgeoning website Better Than The Van. During the event the guys from BTTV were asked to speak at a conference on the importance of touring. In an effort to promote their company, they partnered with a few companies to give away an entire van filled with the gear they would need for a van tour. The winner received, among other things, a RockPro 5 piece, with 10×8.5, 12×9 rack toms, 14×14 floor tom, an 18×16 bass drum in Gun Metal.
Recently, Taye Drums’ West Wheeler had a chance to speak with the raffle winner, Daniel Fried of the band Bad Sports from Denton, Texas.
Taye Drums: Daniel, congratulations on your winning of the van from Better Than The Van. How did you find out about the contest? Daniel: A friend on Facebook directed me to the contest. It only took a few minutes to enter. Taye Drums: What is the name of your band and how long have you guys been playing together? Daniel: The name of the band is Bad Sports and we have been together for about 3 years now. Taye Drums: What did you think when you won the raffle? Daniel: We were totally excited. It came just in time. The band is getting ready to head out on a West Coast tour. Taye Drums: So that means you will be using the RockPro drum set you won? Daniel: Actually, we started using that set right away. We had some shows at SXSW and needed a kit that would fit in a smaller spot. Since we won a kit with an 18″ bass drum it worked out great! Taye Drums: You mentioned a West Coast tour. Does that mean there will be some Southern California dates? We are in Chino, California and probably not too far from a show or two. Daniel: Totally! We will be at McWorld in Anaheim on 6/29 and Que Sera in Long Beach on 6/30. It would be great to see you and your followers out at the show! Check out our Myspace page for more dates. Taye Drums: I guess I should ask if you are using Better Than The Van for the tour?
Daniel: Well, we were thinking about it, but we have been lucky enough to have a lot of friends in all the towns we are playing.
Taye Drums: Any last words before we finish up?
Daniel: We just want to say thank you to Taye Drums and all the other sponsoring companies. We are completely excited because this kit fits in the van and sounds amazing for its small size. It has already come in handy and we plan on taking it with us on our next tour in our new van! Better Than The Van helps bands find an alternative to sleeping in their van by partnering them up with fans of music who offer a safe environment for them to get their rest. Taye Drums has been building drums for over 35 years and continues to build quality drums. We believe that amazing quality drums need not cost a fortune. As the industry’s most Configuration FriendlyTM company, Taye has a drum “for every rhythm”.

They won Album Of The Year, Best Urban Album, Record of the Year, Best Alternative Song, and Best Short Form Music Video for La Perla that featured the long time Latin Music artist, Ruben Blades. Most recently, Calle 13 presented their first concert in Cuba, the event was held at the José Martí Anti-Imperialist Plaza before an estimated crowd that ranged between 500,000 to 900,000 followers. Taye Gets Magnetic With Josh Collazo. Welcome to Taye!
Taye is happy to announce partnering with Josh Collazo from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros seem to have come out of nowhere. Over the past year, having garnered almost 900K views of their Home video and already appeared on David Letterman and many, many college stations, the world is about to begin asking “who is Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros”. Well one of the places they can get an answer is at Taye Drums website. Not only does Josh play with Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros but he also plays with Jonathan Stout & his Campus Five. Having been referred to as a “Vintage Jazz drumming phenome”, Josh brings his drumming full circle with the Magnetic Zeros. Josh began his professional musical career at the age of 17, when he was asked to fill the drum spot for the Eddie Reed Big Band. The band was famous through the swing craze revival of the 90’s for its devotion to authenticity and to the recreation of the “true” swing bands of the 1930s and 1940s. During his three year stint with the band, Josh honed in his traditional jazz drumming chops - pulling inspiration from listening to and watching old clips of Gene Krupa, Big Sid Catlett, George Wettling, Zutty Singleton, and many more. In 2002, Josh began branching out by working with other great jazz bands in the Los Angeles area such as Mora’s Modern Rhythmist’s and the Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra. Eventually he went on to start his own New Orleans style jazz band - Josh Collazo & his Feetwarmers. The band was a success with the swing dance community and continued playing shows all over the nation. In the midst of his jazz playing, Josh also found time to tour with the Brody Buster blues band out of Kansas City. He co-founded the OC punk band, the Nots, playing drums and guitar. Josh also took over the drumming spot for the LA based, electro rock band - Written House. While playing in Written House, Josh reconnected with his old pal, Christian Letts, who happened to be singing in the band. It turned out that Christian was working on some demos with a new group - Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. When it came down to begin production on the actual album, Letts dropped Josh’s name in and he got the call! Since then Josh has become a full fledged member of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. After playing a StudioMaple kit in Australia, Josh came back and gave us a ring. We talked for a bit and decided that it would be great to work together. You can see Josh Collazo on his StudioBirch 13″x10″, 24″x18″ kick, 16″x16″ floor tom and 14″x7″ snare in Turquoise Sparkle this spring and summer with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

Just an update on Taye Drums’ activity in the music business recently. We have partnered up with a few blues artists’ drummers and want to introduce you. First there is Mr. Hubert Neri out of Brownsville, TX playing for Guitar Shorty. He has been on a marathon tour for the past 5 weeks finishing up next week. We also introduce new comer Xavres Good with the Grady Champion Review. Xavres and crew recently won the International Blues Challenge on January25th, 2010. Grady keeps the team busy all year long so be on the look out for these guys to come to your town soon. They have been on quite a few television shows since and Grady is even appearing in his first movie “Rites of Spring” with Padraig Reynold. (no confirmation if Xavres steals any scenes) Funny thing is that both of those guys are swinging the StudioBirch Turquoise Sparkle wrap. Great sounding drums and pop underneath the lights and microphones. Now, the fun stuff, we CONGRATULATE Barry Alexander for his performance on Jonny Lang’s Live At the Ryman and are currently climbing the Billboard Blue’s charts at the #2 spot. If you go further down, you see the hot debut to the chart from another long time Taye guy, Darin James who holds down the groove with the Stacy Mitchart Band with his StudioMaple.
