Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are set to make their eighth appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend when they perform as the musical guest on the show’s season finale, hosted by Alec Baldwin. “I Should Have Known It,” the first video from June 15’s upcoming album MOJO, was released earlier this week. Click the photo below (yes, I shamefully paused it about two minutes in for this screen grab of floor to ceiling Fender amps and guitars) to watch the video.

Petty and the Heartbreakers Offer Live Box Set
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers recently released The Live Anthology, a live box set that reflect three decades of live concerts. Among the 48 tracks available in the standard edition are “American Girl,” “Free Fallin’,” “Refugee,” “Breakdown” and “Mary Jane’s Last Dance.” To help promote the set, Petty spent nearly six hours over a two-day period with Rolling Stone magazine. “I was amazed at how durable the tunes were,” Petty answered Rolling Stone when asked what he learned about himself as a songwriter from the new live set. “I’m pretty rough on myself, as far as giving a pat on the back. I get nervous, to this day, bringing a song to the band. They’re tough.” The entire interview is available in the Dec. 10 issue (Twilight and New Moon actor Taylor Lautner is on the cover) and includes a two-page photo spread of Petty, comfortably reclining on a sofa that is surrounded by dozens of guitars and amps at the Heartbreakers studio in San Fernando Valley, Calif.
